To
find the next great heavyweight is every promoter or managers wet dream
and thats the reason why every new heavyweight is getting much more attention
than new boxers in the lower divisions. It’s a special magic or aura surrounding
the champ of the heavyweight division. A new Ali or a new Tyson is of couse
the ultimate dream, a young heavyweight who has the style of a future superstar
written all over him. And even if there’s no new Ali in the division, we
might find a new Lewis, a new Holyfield or a new Klitschko on the list.
Most of the fighters will of course end up being steppingstones for other
fighters on the rise, but some of them will probably develop into contenders
or champs some day and they’re all going to start somewhere.
My criteria for the ranking are
as follows. You can be on the list as long as you’re considered to be a
fighter on the rise, but not yet a contender. If you lose a fight, you
must come back with a good win (neutralizing the loss in some way). Of
course the nature of the loss counts too. A devestating loss is harder
to neutralize than a close loss… My view of a prospect is someone on his
way up who hasn't reached his limit yet and a loss indicates that you've
reached your level. I can see three roads for a prospect after a loss.
1: You become an "opponent" for other prospects on the rise 2: You moving
backwards in development and steps down in class and only fighting "nobodys".
You still have a good record but you show no interests in stepping up again
3: The prospectroad is to climb up in the saddle again fight someone close
to your own level and pass the test. In some way, you start from scratch
after a loss. To long inactivity will also drop you from the list.
1. Juan Carlos Gomez (!)
YOB: 1973
Country: Cuba
H-W: 6.4- 225
Record: 37-0 (31)
Prodebut: 1995
Latest fight: Outboxed Sinan Samil
Sam the 27th of September 2003
Best win (as a heavy): Sinan Samil
Sam
Other notable victims: Al Cole
(as a heavy) Marcelo Dominguez, Imamu Mayfield, Jorge Castro (as a cruiser)
Rounds: 12
Next:
Comments: Don’t know what is going
on with Juan Carlos Gomez. His career as a heavy has been a mix between
mismatches and cancelled fights so far. He finally showed his class as
a heavy when he outclassed Sinan Samil Sam, but became inactive after that
again. Gomez who got great handspeed, mobility and defence is one of the
best cruisers ever and has the potential to do what Holyfield did (move
up from cruiser to became a heavyweightchamp), but his inactivity really
hurts his status.
2. Audley Harrison (!)
YOB: 1971
Country: United Kingdom
H-W: 6.6- 255
Record: 16-0 (11)
Prodebut: 2001
Latest fight: Outboxed Julius Francis
over 12 rounds the 8th of May
Best win: Stopped the previously
unbeaten Richel Hersisia in March
Other notable victims: Brian Nix,
Mark Krence, Ratko Draskovic, Rob Calloway, Dominic Negus, Julius Long,
Piotr Jurczyk, Derek McCafferty, Mike Middleton
Rounds: 12
Next: Cliff Etienne / Tony Thompson
/ Nikolay Popov?
Comments: Harrison is probably
the most hyped newcomer in the heavyweight division in a long time and
the expectations on him are HUGE especially in UK. So I guess it's hard
to impress in such kind of context. He's big, fast, powerful and tricky
which he showed in the Olympics. Harrison is one of the most talented on
the list and he has slowly begun to step up in competition lately. But
he doesn’t got time on his side, so he needs to test his limit before its
to late
3. Samuel Peter
YOB: 1980
Country Nigeria
H-W: 6.2-235
Promoter: Duva
Record: 19-0 (17)
Prodebut: 2001
Latest fight: Won on points over
Charles Shufford the 17th of May
Best win: Charles Shufford
Other notable victims: Dale Crowe,
Marion Wilson, 1st round knockouts over Julius Joiner, Fred Gatica and
Giles Knox and a 2nd round konockout over Terry Porter and Francis Royal
Rounds: 10
Next: Lawrence Clay-Bey?
Comments: Peter is a very interesting
prospect from Nigeria. He lost to Paolo Vidoz in the Olympics but his aggresive
style is better suited for the proring. He has already been compared to
Ike Ibeabuchi and Peter has the same type of heavyhitting style in the
ring as his countryman, but I think that Ike was a better boxer. Peter
is a knockoutpuncher with ordinary boxingskills, but he showed against
Shufford that he could outwork a better “boxer”
4. Calvin Brock
YOB: 1975
Country: USA (North Carolina)
H-W: 6.2-235
Record: 21-0 (18)
Prodebut: 2001
Latest fight: Won on points over
Terry Smith the 15th of May
Best win: Terry Smith
Other notable wins: David Vedder,
Jim Strohl, Jeff Ford, Antonio Colbert
Rounds: 10
Next:
Comments: Brock is that kind
of fighter who is good in many departments, but not spectacular in any.
Won a workmanlike decision over previously undefeated Terry Smith and looked
decent but not like the future savior of the division.
5. Ruslan Chagaev (!)
Age 1978
Country: Uzbekhistan
H-W: 6.1-225 (Southpaw)
Promoter: Universum (Spotlight)
Record: 10-0-1 (7)
Prodebut: 1997/2001
Latest fight: Stopped Wade Lewis
in round 1 the 18th of May
Best win Stopped Zak Graham in
round 3 in May 2003
Other notable wins: Sedreck Fields,
Rob Calloway (a technical draw) Chris Issac, Bigfoot Martin, Val Smith
Rounds: 8
Next:
Comments: Chagaev showed a lot
of potential in the way he dominated the division in the amateur WC 2001.
His first profights was against rather tough competition for a newcomer,
but he has stepped down in competition since he went to Germany. Chagaev
is a powerful and rather fast preassurefighter but he might have some problems
with a really good “boxer”.
6. Tony Thompson
YOB: 1971
Country: USA (Washington D.C)
H-W: 6.5-250 (Southpaw)
Promoter: Cedric Kushner
Record: 22-1 (13)
Prodebut: 2000
Latest fight: Won on points over
previously unbeaten Yamplier Azcuy the 27th of March
Best win: Stopped awkward Zuri
Lawrence in October 2002
Other notable victims: Gilbert
Martinez, James Gaines, Chester Hughes, Ron Guerrero, Mo Wilson, Lincoln
Luke, Lee Alhassan, Dana Dunston, Robert Anderson
Losses: Against Eric Kirkland on
points in 2000
Rounds: 8
Next: Audley Harrison?
Comments: Thompson has looked better
and betters as a pro. Lost to Eric Kirkland in 2000 but has won every fight
since and he also went to the final in the “Fistful of dollars” tournament.
He’s tall and a pretty good infighter for such a big man.
7. Luan Krasniqi
YOB: 1971
Country: Germany/Albania
H-W: 6.3- 220
Promoter: Universum
Record: 26-1 (12)
Prodebut: 1997
Latest fight: Won on points over
Sinan Samil Sam the 14th of February.
Best win: Samil Sam
Other notable victims: Rene Monse,Julius
Francis, Premyzlaw Saleta, Sedrick Fields, Antoine Palatis, Bigfoot Martin,
Rene Hanl, Harry Senior.
Loss: To Saleta in 2002
Rounds: 12
Next: Tomasz Bonin?
Comments: Krasniqi is a good allroundboxer
with a good amateurcareer behind him. He has been praised by Lennox Lewis
as one of his toughest sparringpartners and has also rebounded good after
his quitting-loss to Saleta. Krasniqi looked good when he outboxed Sam
for the european title, but I guess his heart will always be questioned
after the quitting.loss to Saleta
8. Gerald Nobles
YOB: 1971
Country: USA
H-W: 6.0-240
Promoter: Don King
Record: 23-0 (18)
Prodebut: 1995
Latest fight: Stopped Bruce Seldon
in round 9 the 15th of May
Best win: Bruce Seldon
Other notable victims Sedrick Fields,
Ron Guerrero, Mo Harris, Augustin Corpus, Greg Pickrom
Rounds: 10
Next:
Comments: Nobles career has been
rather erratic so far. Good performaces has been followed by long periods
of inactivity (caused by problems outside the ring I guess). Nobles is
a good boxer-puncher who combines good boxingskills with great power in
his hands, but he doesn’t seem to be in the best of shape though.
9. Nikolay Valuev
YOB: 1973
Country: Russia
H-W: 7.2-310
Promoter: Sauerland
Record: 36-0 (27)
Prodebut: 1993
Latest fight: Won on points over
Marcello Dominguez the 17th of April
Best win: Taras Bidenko
Other notable victims:, Dick Ryan,
Otis Tisdale, James Gaines, Topika Tasefa, Andreas Sidon, Alexander Vasiliev
Rounds: 12
Next: Paolo Vidoz / Steffen Nielsen
Comments: Valuev is rather underated
IMO. Hes often described as some kind of freak who’s just enormous. He
sure is the biggest guy on the list, but he’s also wellschooled with a
good jab and decent variety of punch arsenal and even if he’s no Roy Jones
he’s faster than his reputation. Its hard to say how good he is, cause
he hasn't been tested against any top opposition yet. The best opponent
so far has been fellow prospect Taras Bidenko, but Bidenko was only a novice
(3-0) when they fought. It would be sad if Valuev continues to fight nobodys
and retires at (50-0) cause he’s no bum. I wouldn’t be surprised if he
surprises some of us (if he gets his chance).
10. Leo Nolan
YOB: 1972
Country: USA (Detroit)
H-W: 6.2-220
Promoter: Team Cannon
Record: 22-0 (8)
Prodebut: 1992 (inactive 93-01)
Latest fight: Outpointed Lou Savarese
the 7th of May
Best win: Lou Savarese
Other notable victims: Jeremy Bates,
Julius Long, Mario Cawley, Val Smith, Willie Driver, Terry Porter
Rounds: 12
Next: Lawrence Clay-Bey
Comments: Nolan is a slick boxer
who usually frustrate and outboxes his opponents. He might be to small
and featherfisted, but he might also like another boxer from Michigan became
the fighter that you can’t look good against and therefore being avoided
by the others
11. Sultan Ibragimov (!)
YOB: 1975
Country: Russia
W: 6.2-220 (Southpaw)
Record: 11-0 (9)
Prodebut: 2002
Latest fight: Outpointed Alexi
Osokin the 10th of March
Best win: Outboxed the previously
unbeaten Chad Butler in March 2003.
Other notable wins: Lincoln Luke
Rounds: 8
Next:
Comments: A very succesful amateurcareer
behind him. Took a silvermedal in Sydney for exemple (only beaten by Felix
Savon). He’s rather fast and a great bodypuncher who looks a little bit
like Vassilij Jirov in style. Angelo Dundee trains him and he took a good
victory when he outboxed the previously unbeaten heavyhitter Chad Butler.
12. Owen Beck (!)
YOB: 1976
Country: Jamaica
H-W: 6.3-230
Promoter: Don King
Record: 21-0 (16)
Prodebut: 1998
Latest fight: Stopped Byron Polley
the 15th of May
Best win: Pointswin over previously
unbeaten prospect Taurus Sykes in 2000
Other notable victims: George Arias,
Derrell Dixon, Ramon Hayes, Lee Swaby
Rounds: 10
Next:
Comments: Beck is more of a boxer
than a puncher, which he showed in his two best wins so far. Derrell Dixon
and Taurus Sykes were undefeated before the rather unknown Owen Beck outboxed
them. A couple of brutal knockout-wins after that indicates improved power.
But I hope that he doesn’t forget the basics when he realise that he got
power in his fists. “What the heck” Beck has been rather protected since
he became a Don King-fighter, so I hope that he’s going to step up in class
soon. He should be fighting better opposition at this stage of his career.
13. Matt Skelton
YOB: 1967/69
Country: UK
H-W: 6.3-250
Record: 13-0 (12)
Prodebut: 2002
Latest: Stopped Michael Sprott
in round 12 the 24th of April
Best win: Michael Sprott
Other notable victims: Julius Francis,
Michael Holden, Jacklord Jacobs, Ratko Draskovic, Antoine Palatis
Rounds: 12
Next: Bob Mirovic
Comments: A former kickboxer who
had surprised a lot of us with his success inside the boxingring so far.
But even if he won against Francis and Sprott he didn’t impressed and not
so many believes that he can move on to the world-level.
14. Alexander Dimitrenko (!)
YOB: 1982
Country: Ukraine
H-W: 6.6-240
Promoter: Universum
Record: 14-0 (10)
Prodebut: 2001
Latest fight: Stopped Ramon Hayes
in round 2 the 8th of May
Best win: Kendrick Releford on
points in August
Other wins: Jeff Ford,
Rounds: 6
Next:
Comments: A former junior super
heavy champ who looks like a basketball-player and moves very well for
a man at his size. Maybe the eastern-european with the most potential.
15. Jean Francois Bergeron
YOB: 1973
Country: Canada
H-W: 6.5-220 (Southpaw)
Promoter: Interbox/Cedric Kushner
Record: 19-0 (14)
Prodebut: 1998
Latest fight: Stopped Rogerio Lobo
in round 2 the 20th of March
Best win: A pointswin over the
then unbeaten prospect Willie Palms in September 2001.
Other notable victims: Darroll
Wilson, Willie Palms, Brian Nix, Derrick Brown, Marcellus Brown, Art Card,
Ben Perlini, Curt Paige
Rounds: 10
Next:
Comments: The southpaw Bergeron
hasn't been the most active pro since his debut. The win over Willie Palms
in 2001 is the best victory on his record so far. Bergeron is a ”slick”,
wellschooled boxpuncher with alot of amateurexperience behind him, but
he looks a little thin and injuryproblems seems to be an issue here.
16. Taurus Sykes
YOB: 1975
Country: USA (New York)
H-W: 6.2-230
Promoter: Cedric Kushner
Record: 21-1-1 (5)
Prodebut: 1998
Latest fight: Outpointed Jovo Pudar
the 21st of February
Best win: Pointswin over Sherman
Williams
Other notable victims: Talmadge
Griffis, James Walton, Charles Hatcher, Willie Chapman, Todd Diggs, Israel
Garcia, Larry Carlisle, Drexie James, Ed Slater
Losses: On points against Owen
Beck in 2000
Draw: Against Imamu Mayfield in
2003
Rounds: 10
Next:
Comments: Sykes is a New Yorker
with limited skills. He throws very wide punches and his stamina could
be better, but he is fast and has improved a lot the last couple of years
and he also got some decent names on his record, so don't count him out
yet. I don’t really see a future contender in Sykes but you never know.
17. Malik Scott (!)
YOB: 1980
Country: USA (Philadelphia)
H-W: 6.4-225
Promoter: Main Event
Record: 18-0 (9)
Prodebut: 2000
Latest fight: Outboxed Carlton
Johnson over 8 the 26th of July
Best win: A 2-round knockout over
Terry McGroom in February 2003.
Other notable victims: Ron Brown,
Dan Ward, Britton Thomas, Ramon Hayes, Louis Monaco, Maurice Wheeler, Robert
Anderson
Rounds: 8
Next:
Comments: Scott was an amateurstandout
and he's very merited for a guy who's born in the 80.s. Primarly a good
boxer, but has lately showed signs of improved power. Has been injured
for a while.
18. Roman Greenberg (!)
YOB: 1982
Country: Israel
H-W: 6.2-220
Promoter: Evans/Waterman
Record: 15-0 (12)
Prodebut: 2001
Latest fight: Stopped Jason Gethers
in round 6 the 15th of April
Best win: Jason Gethers
Other wins: Luke Simpkins, Mendaugas
Kulikauskas, Troy Beets, Derek McCafferty
Rounds: 6
Next:
Comments: Greenberg is born in
Russia, raised in Israel and based in UK and predicted to go far in the
division. The former amateur world junior silvermedalist Greenberg is a
very talented, fast heavyweight and one reporter called him the best young
heavyweight prospect seen in UK for decades. Greenberg was in trouble for
the first time in his procareer when he was dropped in the second round
by spoiler Kulikauskas. He woke up after that and won quite comfortably,
but a valuable lession that you always should be focused and well-prepared.
Rumours also sys that he has been dropped a couple of times in sparring.
There are not many Israeli boxers on the world scene, but Greenberg seems
to be someone to follow. Fast and mobile but questions about his chin needs
to be answered.
19. David Defiagbon
YOB: 1970
Country: Canada/Nigeria
H-W: 6.5-225
Promoter: Cedric Kushner
Record: 20-0 (11)
Prodebut: 1996
Latest fight: Won on points over
Ken Murphy in March
Best win: He was the first one
to stop ironchinned journeyman Harold Sconiers in 2001
Other notable victims: Augustin
Corpus, A. J. Moore, James Jones, Louis Monaco
Rounds: 8
Next: Ron Guerrero
Comments: The two-time Olympian
Defiagbon is a "boxer" with a good jab who looks a little bit like Henry
Akinwande in style. He's tall and likes to box from the outside. His matchmaking
has been as careful as his style so far.
20. Taras Bidenko (!)
YOB: 1980
Country: Ukraine
H-W: 6.4-220
Promoter: Universum (Spotlight)
Record: 10-1 (6)
Prodebut: 2000
Latest fight: Outboxed durable
Augustin Corpus the 24th of April
Best win: Augustin Corpus
Other victims: Sergey Dychkov
Loss: Close loss over 12 rounds
to Nikolay Valuev in Bidenkos 4th fight
Rounds: 12
Next:
Comments: Made some noise when
he turned pro and impressed in a sparring session against Lennox Lewis.
Lost in only his 4th fight against giant Valuev, but reports talked about
a close fight where Bidenko was the better man in the late rounds. So even
if he lost he showed that he got stamina and a pretty good chin. He was
rather inactive after the loss but has now travelled to Germany where he
has taken a couple of wins. Bidenko is a very good “boxer” with fast hands,
good defense and mobility like a middleweight. Maybe not the most powerful
among the fighters from the eastern Europe.
21. Georgi Kandelaki
YOB: 1974
Country: Georgia
W: 235
Promoter: Panix
Record: 24-0 (18)
Prodebut: 1998
Latest fight: Stopped Alexi Osokin
the 17th of October
Best win: Alexander Vassilev in
2002
Other notable victims: Harry Senior,
Antoine Palatis
Rounds: 12
Next:
Comments: The former amateur world
champ hasn't been so succesful as a pro yet. Has also been rather inactive
lately so he needs to fight more regular and against better opposition.
22. Tye Fields
YOB: 1975
Country: USA (Oklahoma)

Best Win: Sherman Williams
Other notable victims: Jeff Ford,
Francis Royal, Joe Lenhart, Andy Sample, Greg Suttington
Losses: Stopped by Jeff Ford in
2001
Rounds: 12
Next:
Comments: A big (6.9) and powerful
man with a shaky chin is the usual description of this man. Stepped up
in class and showed that he can box a little when he won on points over
Sherman Williams
23. Nikolay Popov
YOB: 1979
Country: Russia
W: 6.5-250

Latest: Won on points over Corey
Sanders the 31st of January
Best win: Corey Sanders
Other wins: Stopped UK-prospect
John McDermott in September
Rounds: 10
Next: Audley Harrison?
Comments: Unknown to most of us
before he spoiled the show from UK-prospect John McDermott. Confirmed his
status as a prospect when he outpointed the huge Corey Sanders
24. Steeve Herelius
YOB: 1976
Country: France
H-W: 6.1-205 (Southpaw)
Record: 4-0 (2)
Prodebut: 2002
Latest: Stopped Thierry Guezoli
in round 3 the 29th of April
Best win: Outclassed Antoine Palatis
in December 2003
Other wins: 1st round knockout
over Alain Martin
Rounds: 10
Comments: Herelius is very wellshooled
for a novice. A sharpshooter with fast hands and mobility who at the end
might be too small among the big heavies. But his start in the proranks
has been very impressive. Winning the French title in his third fight and
stopping the former titlist Alain Martin in his debut speaks for itself.
25. Faruq Saleem
YOB: 1973
Country: USA (New Jersey)
H-W: 6.7-250
Record: 32-0 (28)
Prodebut: 1998
Latest fight: Stopped Otis Tisdale

Best win: A pointswin over veteran
Mo Wilson in 2001
Other notable victims: Sione Asipeli,
Larry Carlisle, Abdul Muhaymin, Melvin Foster
Rounds: 10
Next:
Comments: Saleem is a big, powerful
guy who has been matched very careful so far. But has despite that been
in big danger in a couple of fights, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s
leaving the building of unbeaten boxers when the opposition gets tougher.
26. Tomasz Bonin
YOB: 1974
Country: Poland
H-W: 6.1-235

Best win: Garing Lane
Other notable victims: Sergey Dychkov,
Mario Schiesser, Roman Suchoterin, Gary Winmon, Gordon Minors and Wojciech
Bartnik
Rounds: 10
Next: Luan Krasniqi?
Comments: After Albert Sosnowski
lost to Arthur Cook, Bonin rised up to the top-position of prospects in
Poland. Looked good in the early stages but seems to have stagnated a little
now.
27. Kevin Montiy (!)
YOB: 1975

Best win: A pointswin over Arthur
Cook in 2000
Other notable victims: Steve Griffin,
Tim Knight
Rounds: 6
Next:
Comments: Montiy is a fast and
skillful heavyweight from Detroit who has been praised by Chris Byrd when
they sparred, but Montiy hasn’t been the most active of the new names lately

Comments: Koc is a good infighter

without Tuas power

Country: USA
W: 235
Record: 6-0 (5)

Comments: Arreola was a succesful

division where he has been doing great so far. Sounds like a fast heavyhanded
fighter.

Latest fight: Stopped Salvador
Farnetti in round 2 the 21st of March 2003.
Best win: Stopped Keith Govan in
round 1 in December 2002.
Rounds: 4
Next:
Comment: Was a succesful amateur
who competed at the WC in 2001 and became the junior super heavy champ
in 1998 for exemple. Started his procareer with a couple of impressive
wins (Govan and John Clark for exemple), but has now been inactive for
a while. Moved to UK and and has been scheduled to fight on Frank Warren
shows a couple of times, but not a fight has been made yet. And now rumours
said that he even left UK.

Other wins: Kerron Speid, Newton
Kidd, Jason Heit
Loss: To Russ Shiflett in June

who won the New York Golden Gloves. Pat has come up with a couple of really
good wins since his only loss.
43. Mike Mollo
YOB: 1980

W: 210

Dychkov the 28th of March 2003

Best win: Julius Francis
Other notable victims: Shawn Robinson,
Garing Lane, Dirk Wallyn, Antonio Colbert, Lee Swaby
Loss: To Julius Francis
Rounds: 10
Next: Paolo Vidoz
Comments: Nielsen (who is not related
to Brian) is a rather small heavyweight with decent allroundskills, but
I can’t see him going so much further.
45. Patrice L’Heuroux
YOB: 1971
Country: Canada
W: 6.5-250

46. Muhamed ”Ali” Azzaoui (!)
YOB: 1976
Country: Algeria

Record: 13-0-2
Prodebut: 2001
Latest fight: Won on points over
Seiaute Mailata the 27th of March
Best win: Mark Alexander in 2001
Rounds: 12
Next:
Comments: Muhamed Azzaoui was one
of the best heavyweights in Africa as an amateur and represented Algeria
in Sydney. Started to combine a boxingcareer with a kickboxingdito in Australia
after that, but it seems that he now concentrates on boxing in New Zealand.
Azzaoui is a fast, mobile fighter with a cocky, handsdown style, which
might be his downfall in the future. He was dropped against Terry Tutero
and was knocked out of the olympic games caused by his cockiness.
He also seems to step between the cruiser and the heavydivision.
47. Joe Guzman
YOB: 1976

Next:
Comments: Someone compared him
to Joe Louis and even if it’s way to early for such kind of comparisons
the 1st round knockout over tough upcomer Jonathan Williams (who has wins
over Chauncy Welliver and Tra Telligman on his record for exemple) impresses.
200 lbs also sounds a little bit to small for a heavyweight, but he definitely
sounds like one to follow

a bright future in the proring.

Jesse Oltmanns in March 2002.
Rounds: 6
Next: Jermell Barnes (for some
cruiserbelt)
Comments: Singh competed as a light
heavy for India in the Olympics but has now moved up a little in weight.
Time will tell if he's going to focus on the heayweights or if he's going
to move down to cruiser. But he's tall and powerful so why not stay in
the heaviest division.

Robinson the 18th of October
Comments: Fighting journeyman Robinson
so early in his career indicates that his team think that the young Collins
got something.
In the waiting room
Joe Mesi – A top prospect if he’s
allowed to box again
Dominic Guinn – Praised as the
next great thing before Monte Barrett gave him a boxinglession. Time will
tell if he can take it the right way. The really great fighters comes
back better than before after such a loss.
Cedric Boswell – Boswell loooked
as a future champ when he gave Jameel McCline a classical boxing lession…
for 9 rounds. If Boswell can copy the thing he did in the first 9 rounds
against McCline nobody is safe, but at 34 doesn’t have time on his side.
DaVarryl Williamson – Is always
entertaining and dangerous for every one.
Sergey Lyakhovich – Was schooled
by Mo Harris a couple of years ago.
Paolo Vidoz – A win over Steffen
Nielsen will put him back on the list
Malcolm Tann – Tann did what many
other prospects has done the last couple of years. Ran into the spoiler
Willie Chapman. Tann is only a novice so the train hasn’t left the station
yet. A win over Jason Gavern will bring him back
Duncan Dokiwari – Maybe not an
undisputed champ, but tough as hell which he showed against Guinn
T J Wilson – Was stopped by Willie
Chapman and hasn’t fought again after that
Eric Kirkland – Has been stopped
two times in the final round in fights he was winning. Maybe his trainer
shouldn’t tell Kirkland that the last round is up.
Danny Williams – Nobody sees Williams
as a prospect anymore but I got a feeling that he will surprise us some
day.
Yamplier Azcuy – Undefeated until
he took a fight with Tony Thompson on very short notice.
Albert Sosnowski – Was considered
a bright prospect until he ran into Arthur Cook a couple of years ago.
Has only been fighting recordpadders since.
Omran Awadi – Missing in action
Steve Vukosa - dito
